5/27/06 - Updates, Spoleto, MySpace, oh my!
Hi everyone! Julia here with some updates and news from Rebellion Rd. The site
has had (or will be having) a few new updates. A press page has been added to
the news section, and a graphic design portfolio to the design section. Both
of which will be added to as the time arises. In the next few days, the music
section and the gallery will both have some new additions. So check back soon.
You might be asking yourself what's been going on in the studio. Ash would probably
be the person to talk to for the recording report, but I'll fill you in as best
as I can. First off, our friends Ward
Williams and Cary
Ann Hearst have just recorded and released full length albums. Music samples
will be posted on the website soon, but don't forget to check out
Ward and
Cary's MySpace pages. Also, Cabaret Kiki est arrivé! You can get more info
on them here and here.
Speaking of MySpace, I know a lot of people who are disappointed that I don't
have a MySpace. I'm distracted enough as it is without a MySpace account. But
there's no reason the studio shouldn't have one!!! I don't know why I didn't
think to create one sooner. Well, maybe I did. But again, I'm distracted, so
it probably got pushed down on the list of priorities. Sometime in the near
future Rebellion Road Studios will be on MySpace.
Spoleto is upon us and we are podcasting the festival coverage in conjunction
with The City Paper. To check out our podcast, go to Charleston
City Paper, SpoletoBuzz
blog, and the
podcast feed page to listen to the podcasts individually, or to subscribe
in iTunes. Spoleto has just started and we've had a bunch of amazing guests,
with a lot more to come. The studio has been dubbed "the pod lounge" for the
entirety of the festival. Bookmark these links because you never know who is
going to show up in the pod lounge for an interview!
There could be some big announcements regarding Rebellion Road in the next coming
months, so stay tuned. And I promise not to go another year without updating.
When there is news to report, this will be the place to find it.
7/28/05- SITE LAUNCH!
Welcome to the official website of Rebellion Road Studios. Here you will
find pretty much anything you could possibly want to know about the studio
itself. I'm going to try to keep this 'news' section going with little
updates about recording projects that come through here. By now, you've
already missed so much fun... drunken rows with The Dole, 'let's make
it sound like the past' with Cary Ann Hearst, and 'how not to record'
with The Films (who will be dearly missed now that they are moving to
New York to be rock stars). Last night we had Dr. Bill Carson M.D. in
here to record a song that will be featured on a DVD that, as far as I
know, may be coming out at some point in the near or distant future. The
movie in question features a young Evan Bivins (who played drums for last
night's session) and has something to do with 'taters', or possibly 'tomaters',
but apparently not any sort of 'killer tomaters'. Anyways, I mixed the
song this morning and it sounds really good. Unfortunately, I can't share
it with you because I have no idea to what degree I might be sued by whoever
is putting the DVD out. So again, welcome to the new website. Please take
a good look around and drop us a line if you have any questions or incriminating
photographs of elected officials.
